How does it work?
We want to make it as easy as possible for you to enjoy renting lenses from us. The process is very simple, if you’re a first time renter you will need to create an account, during account registration you will go through an ID Verification process (it only takes a few minutes) that lets us know that you are who you say you are. In very rare cases, we may be unable to confirm your identity with our online ID Verification service and you will then be required to upload your ID, they will then confirm your identity in person. ID Verification is a one time process and once completed, you can rent what you want, when you want without having to worry about a deposit! Once you are a registered Oz Lens Rental user, simply find what lens you want to rent and click the ‘Rent Now’ button, you can then continue to find more gear to rent or you can proceed to the check out. Here you’ll let us know what date you need the lens(es) to arrive and how long you want them for, you can have them shipped immediately or reserve them for a future date. Each lens is then carefully packed and shipped to you, someone will need to be available at the delivery address to sign for the lens when it arrives, otherwise you will be left a note to collect it at a local depot or a redelivery fee may apply. A return label is included with each shipment, when you’re done, simply repack the lens(es) the way it arrived, apply the return label(s) and we'll pick it up. That’s it!
Can I reserve a Lens?
You sure can! Simply select the dates during the checkout process and we’ll put it aside for you.
It’s my first time, Is there an approval process?
Yep! Before you can rent you need to become a registered Oz Lens Rental user. During this process you’ll set up a few of your preferences, tell us a bit about yourself and prove you’re who you say you are. We want this process to be as easy as possible, we’re not looking for a DNA sample, just a quick and simple online ID Verification process. In very rare cases, we may be unable to confirm your identity with our online ID Verification service and you will be required to upload supporting documents. ID Verification is a one time process and when completed, means you can rent what you want, when you want without the need for a deposit!
How is the rental period calculated?
Your rental starts at 5pm on the day you sign for the delivery, or, the first delivery attempt is made, or, the date on which you nominated as your rental start date (whichever is the latest), so don’t panic if it arrives a day early, we do this sometimes to make sure you get it on time. In the case that it’s early, your rental period does not start until your nominated rental start date at 5pm, so you get some bonus time to get to know the lens! And if the unforeseen happens and we’re late, your rental won’t start until 5pm on the day we attempt to deliver it, or you sign for the delivery. Your rental period ends 5pm on the final day of the rental period. For example, if you had a 4 day rental, and your rental start date is a Monday and you receive the lens on that day, your rental period will end 5pm on Friday and must be ready for shipment back to us by 5pm that day. Usually, we will pick up the next working day in the morning. Rentals cannot begin or end on Saturday, Sunday or a public holiday as there is no shipping is available.
